Snowshoes: Route Le Rard

Discover the immaculate and untouched Vaud Alps with snowshoes. Profit from the freedom that comes with snowshoes and follow the route of Rard, crossing pastures, the forest and lakes covered by their winter blanket.

The Rard loop is a popular route for all with a duration of 1h30 to 2h depending on the varient chosen. Let yourself be plunged into the untouched landscape. The route is marked Swiss Snow Shoe n°7 and starts on the winter road which leads to Lac Retaud.

Get to Col du Pillon by car or with the free shuttle bus from Les Diablerets. After around 15 minutes on the road for Lac Retaud, fork to the right to head in the direction of Rard. Here you will find a pleasant walk in the forest. Pass in front of the Chalet du Rard and continue your walk to Lac Retaud. From the lake, two options are available: The shorter route joins route n°2 directly to Col du Pillon with the route at around 1h30 to walk. The longer option will bring you to route n°3 via Fenil Durand, then to Col du Pillon. This way takes around 2 hours.
