Ski touring is one of the closest forms of alpine skiing to nature as no lifts are needed. You can ascend with the help of "ski skins" then for the most part, descend off-piste on skis.
This sport takes you high up in the mountains and a good knowledge of the terrain, snow risks with the Glacier, weather conditions in the mountains and routes providing the safety of skiers is needed. If you are a fan of this sport, inform yourself with the weather conditions, snow conditions, snow professionals, secure pistes and the high mountain guides before you leave.
Choose a hike based on your physic, your technical level and the snow conditions. For your first hike, don’t look for a hard one: discover the technique and the atmosphere with an easy route such as "la Tête du Meilleret". Do not set off alone and make sure you have with you all the necessary equipment needed.

Found in the area of Meilleret, the loops start at the Funpark buvette. The first-blue- at 3.7km with a height difference of 260m. The second-red-6.7km with a height difference of 560m.
The marked routes pass over areas where the danger of an avalanche is almost non-existent even with a risk of 4 (out of 5). Furthermore, it is possible to return to your starting point by using a prepared alpine ski slope.
