The Restaurant du Lac des Chavonnes is located near the pretty mountain lake with the same name. Nestling at an altitude of 1,690 metres in the heart of the Vaudois Alps in Villars-sur-Ollon, this restaurant welcomes guests in summer and winter in a charming and verdant setting.
Located close to the ski slopes of the Villars-Gryon-Les Diablerets ski area, the restaurant offers traditional and regional dishes in a cordial setting. Among the specialties are vol-au-vent with forest mushrooms, roast of suckling lamb from the mountains with fresh herbs and trout meunière with almonds from Lake des Chavonnes. Summer and winter, lunchtime and evening, the Restaurant du Lac des Chavonnes welcomes guests in a charming dining room offering 50 seats. Its vast and beautiful terrace is part of a verdant picture-postcard setting on the shores of the lake.
The restaurant is 1.5 miles from the small Bex-Villars-Bretaye train and reachable by an easy path. This is the ideal place for a break during a day out skiing or hiking. You can also sleep there to enjoy the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere to the full (the hotel is open from Thursday to Saturday, booking required).
In winter, access via the ski slope. In summer, there are two possibilities: by train stopping at “Bretaye” and 20 minutes’ walk; By car from La Forclaz, via an accessible road. 45 minutes from Aigle.
