Solalex

Easily accessible, Solalex has managed to retain its charm and character. The Solalex valley sleeps cradled between the imposing Diablerets massif and the Miroir d’Argentine. Come and discover what this corner of paradise has to offer

Solalex is ideal for families and nature lovers.

Dip your toes in the pure waters of the river or have a chat with the goats and cows in the alpine meadows. On a hot summer’s day, share a picnic on the banks of the river or just relax in the lush pastures and enjoy the sun. For those in need of more pampering, enjoy a good meal in the two restaurants, the Miroir d’Argentine and the Refuge de Solalex. Solalex, situated at 1460 metres, is worth the trip in itself, but it is also the starting point for various walks, including the Tour de l’Argentine, a circuit which takes you around this landmark mountain. It is also from Solalex that climbers set off to climb the Miroir d’Argentine.

In summer Solalex can be reached by car in a few minutes from Gryon or Villars, via Barboleuse. In winter access is by snow-shoe or cross-country skis along tracks traced through a magical countryside. It is also possible to stay overnight at the Refuge de Solalex and enjoy the typically warm hopsitality
