Trekking - From Bretaye to Col de la Croix

Bretaye-Ensex-Col de la Croix

This family walk with wide-open views of the whole mountain range will delight adults and children alike.

To get to the start of this walk, you can take the cogwheel train from Villars to Bretaye. When you get there, don’t forget to admire the view of Les Dents du Midi or Mont Blanc.
A few hundred metres below the train station, head in the direction of Ensex and the Col de la Croix, starting with a lovely walk along a wide forest path. You reach the charming village of Ensex with its authentic chalets creating a sense of tranquillity. Then keep walking along a path that will take you to the Col de la Croix, with its curious geological formations, the gypsum pyramids.
You can return along the same path or, during the summer, take the Villars-Les Diablerets bus (2 to 3 times a day).
