Villars - Col de La Croix - Les Diablerets - Les Aviolats - Les Mosses - Corbeyrier - Bex - Villars
This route starting in Villars-Gryon mainly runs along small roads with moderate traffic, with exceptional views of Lake Geneva and the Alps.
Starting from Villars, the Col de la Croix (km 8, 1774 m) has several demanding climbs and then a flat section where you can get your breath back before tackling the last 3 kilometres up to the summit.
The ride down to Les Diablerets (km 17) offers stunning views. Maybe you’ll decide to have your first stop in one of the cafes here?
As you head down to Le Sépey, take a right towards Les Voëttes. This narrow and occasionally steep road will take you to Col des Mosses (km 27, 1445 m), avoiding the traffic of the main road.
After crossing the pass, continue on to La Lécherette and take a left towards L’Hongrin. Here again, you’ll follow an almost deserted route, in beautiful unspoilt scenery, for over 20 km. Once you get to Les Agites (km 48), stop and admire the views of Lake Geneva. If it’s a clear day, you’ll be able see the Jura mountains in the distance!
A quick descent brings you to Yvorne (km 59) and the vineyards of Le Chablais, followed by a flat section of about 12 kilometres on small roads to Bex (km 72).
Tip: The fittest cyclists can do this loop in the opposite direction. The climb from Yvorne is very steep; make sure you’re prepared!
