Visites - Strolls in the village of Bex

Bex

A 45-minute walk through Bex discovering the history of this village and its captivating stories

Walking up the Avenue de la Gare, if you look carefully, you’ll see many buildings from the early 20th century with very different appearances. The Art nouveau, typically Swiss Heimatstil or cottage style houses add a great deal of variety and diversity to the urban fabric, making this a unique village in Chablais. What exactly got into the citizens of Bex of this period? This trail takes you on a discovery of some of the area’s interesting architectural features from the time when it was still called Bex-les-Bains and attracted an audience of cosmopolitan tourists. The tour takes you through the town and its surroundings to some older buildings, some of which are linked to the Bernese past of Bex and its salt mines.

Le Monument Forneret

Le Monument Forneret

Bex
