Randonnée en famille été Olivier Fatzer

Connect with the essentials

During this period of confinement, we can allow ourselves to dream of far horizons.

We have spent many hours contemplating the view from the living room window, the balcony or a corner of the garden.
We have immersed ourselves in our holiday photo collections on glossy paper or on our screens to remind ourselves of better days where we were able to explore the world and go here and there, in search of a change of scenery, encounters and escape.

Everything is a little different nowadays, but we can:
- leave the house once again,
- explore nature, which has taken on the colours of spring,
- do most of our favourite activities outdoors.

It is as though travel were about going out to explore the countryside nearby.
And as though the ideal playground for having fun were just the other side of your front door.
It is time to reconnect with the essential, with nature and the elements.

So put on your trainers, fetch your rucksack and off you go. Nature awaits you.

Explore nature

On the hiking trails

On the hiking trails

with it, this is hiking.

A good pair of shoes or boots, walking poles, a rucksack and a map, and you can set off for the trails to discover the flora and fauna and the panoramas of the Vaud Alps.

There is a wide variety of hiking routes.
You can go out and stretch your legs as a family, reach a lake at high altitude to swim, press on to a summit in record time, or go off roaming for several day. Anything is possible.
Close to the mountain lakes

Close to the mountain lakes

Enjoy a moment of serenity and silence by a lake or river, especially with the fishing season starting in the mountains soon (from 21 June).

It is time to carefully prepare your equipment: rod, line, reel, hooks and fishing permit, and ensure that nothing is missing.

Once you have found the ideal spot, why not go there early in the morning when nature is waking up and everything is quiet?

The only thing missing is a fish on the end of your rod. Go and try your luck!
On the trail routes

On the trail routes

More sport than hiking, trail running allows you to put on your trainers and escape, going at a steady pace on the courses that run from the plain to the highest summits.

All alone – just you and how you feel, crossing the countryside and traversing terrain of varying reliefs. Practising trail running is an endurance activity in which the trail runner personally confronts nature as it unfolds beneath their feet.
On the rock

On the rock

Sure-footedness, a harness, a tether, a helmet and fine weather to ensure dry surfaces: these are the essential conditions for tackling the via ferrata courses in the region.

With or without a guide, depending on your knowledge of this sport and the location, tackling the via ferrata requires concentration, provides an adrenaline rush, and offers a moment of complete disconnection, where you are at one with the elements surrounding you.

A huge natural playground
